From Behind the Napkin
Some of the best ideas don’t come during strategy meetings or carefully planned moments. They appear at lunch, in the shower, or scribbled quickly on the back of a napkin. This blog is about those flashes of inspiration—especially the ones that shape how we show up as women, caregivers, and community builders. It’s about making our lives more meaningful, finding ways to ease the heavy lifting, and supporting one another through both the beautiful and the messy.
Caregiving, femininity, and motherhood are not one-size-fits-all. They are imperfect, powerful, and different for every woman. Some of us lead with softness, some with fire, and many of us with both. Here, we honor that spectrum—choosing empowerment over comparison, grace over judgment, and accountability even when the truth is unpopular.
The “napkin” itself has always been part of human stories. The Spartans used a lump of dough, called apomagdalie, to wipe their hands. Centuries later, paper napkins became an industry thanks to the Japanese market. And beyond the table, napkins became the birthplace of world-shaping ideas:
For me, the napkin is a symbol of possibility—a reminder that brilliance doesn’t need perfection. Behind every scribble and every story, there’s a woman rewriting what it means to care, to lead, to mother, and to be fully herself.
Welcome to From Behind the Napkin—where the everyday becomes inspiration, and imperfection is part of the beauty.
Peace & Blessings
